From Politico:
A Texas businessman who claims he was forced to make $75,000 in secret payments to the wife of Minnesota Sen. Norman Coleman has produced documents showing cash transfers to an insurance firm that employs the senator’s wife Laurie.
But the most interesting exhibit in an apparent ledger of “past due” payments to vendors that includes [...]

A Huff Poster writes:
If Rice is to beat Inhofe, he has to match Inhofe’s TV time in the final 12 days. The campaign’s final TV buy is tomorrow morning and they desperately need another $15,000. A contribution of any size will help. Oklahoma is a relatively inexpensive market — a spot on an Andy Griffith [...]

A few weeks ago, Eric Boehlert suggested that Drudge’s ability to set the zeitgeist appeared to be waning – the seriousness of the credit crunch outweighed the tabloidish frivolity of a typical Drudge banner. Despite her reformer claims, Sarah Palin has been inexplicably quiet about the Ted Stevens trial throughout the campaign. Will she weigh in now that there is a verdict?

From the AP:
Republican, Stevens was found guilty on all seven counts of making false statements on Senate financial documents.
The verdict throws the upcoming election into disarray. Stevens is fighting off a challenge from Democrat Mark Begich and must now either drop out or continue campaigning as a convicted felon.
The trial hinged on the testimony of [...]
